The skills test and checks

Yes. The skills test for your role is paid.

Practical work for your role, marked by a senior against a set rubric. Some roles' tests include a task done with AI.

A CV shows where you've been. The test shows what you can do today, and every applicant for a role is marked the same way.

Yes. Your written English is tested and your spoken English is checked on a call.

Levels and pay

Nobody picks their own level. You're placed at the highest level whose pass marks you clear: Intern, Intermediate, Expert or Specialist.

Your level sets your pay for your role. We don't publish pay on this page: chat with us or email talent@gethands.com.au and we'll explain it for your role.

Intern: clear, repeatable work: data entry, inbox rules, scheduling, research. Intermediate: owns a workflow: admin, customer support, accounts assistance, social media. Expert: owns outcomes: executive assistants, account managers, senior designers. Specialist: developers, designers and marketers who lead projects with little direction.

No. Intern is our first level, for clear, repeatable work. Paid, tested and placed full-time or part-time. Not an unpaid internship.

The work

Yes. You work remotely from where you live, in the client's own tools, such as their Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace.

Growing businesses in Australia, New Zealand, the UK and the US. Some take a dedicated person for a role (a Seat); others send creative work to our Studio.

Your client's working hours, on a shift matched to your time zone. Your hours are set before you start.

Both. Clients take people full-time or part-time.

Many roles use AI, inside the client's approved tools. Our talent rules ban client data in personal or free AI accounts, and passwords, card numbers, health details and ID numbers never go into any AI tool.

What they need to consider you for a role: your Get Hands profile, your level, your test results and your work samples. Our privacy policy has the details.

Getting set up

A quiet place to work and a reliable internet connection. For a Seat, a backup connection (such as mobile data) and backup power, so an outage doesn't take your client's work offline.

Yes. Chat with us on this page, or email talent@gethands.com.au.

You work in the client's own accounts, follow our rules for AI and data, and report a problem as soon as you notice it.
